The Antiques Roadshow visits RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire, an operational station home to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, where treasures include a portrait by John Singer Sargent, a teddy bear that flew with the Dambusters and an outrageous decanter from Las Vegas. Fiona Bruce introduces the programme from the back of a Dakota aircraft in mid-flight, setting the scene for an episode that includes a stuffed toy that flew on the Dambusters raid and original designs for the Vulcan bomber scrawled on a newspaper. A portrait of a 1920s socialite by celebrated artist John Singer Sargent catches the eye of Grant Ford, while a bronze bust known affectionately as Gus turns out to be closely connected to the world's most famous Impressionist painter. Miscellaneous specialist Mark Hill is dazzled by a show-stopping crystal decanter bought on a holiday in Las Vegas, while a coat found in a skip turns out to have been worn by an officer in the American civil war.

Directed by Claude Guilmain and produced by Anne-Marie Rocher, this documentary propels us into the heart of the action in Afghanistan, where members of the Royal 22e Regiment, a mechanized brigade group based in CFB Valcartier and nicknamed the Van Doos, are serving in the field. We meet soldiers named Guillemette, Augar and Perreault on the ground, where they talk with great candour about their experience in the military. The Van Doos in Afghanistan is a rare portrait of soldiers who, far too often, remain nameless.

STORM SURFERS 3D is an epic, character-driven adventure documentary following two best friends on their quest to hunt down and ride the biggest and most dangerous waves in Australia. Aussie tow-surfing legend Ross Clarke-Jones and two-time world champion Tom Carroll enlist the help of surf forecaster Ben Matson and together they track and chase giant storms across the Great Southern Ocean. Braving enormous waves, freezing conditions and near-death experiences, the film follows all of Ross, Tom and Ben’s adventures over the 2011 winter big-wave season, all in stunning 3D. Along the way they join forces with big wave chargers Paul Morgan, Mark Mathews and Paul ‘Antman’ Paterson to conquer waves in Western Australia, on the east coast and in Tasmania, with a special appearance by the greatest surfer of all time, Kelly Slater. The holy grail for this team of big wave hunters is to discover and ride new waves that have never been surfed. This year, Ross, Tom and Ben get the chance of a lifetime when they embark on the biggest and most dangerous mission of their lives to a wave that has never been ridden, 75km from land.

A year on from the death of Michael Brown, the unarmed black teenager killed by a policeman in Ferguson, Missouri, Reggie Yates examines the position of African-Americans in US society. Brown's death, in addition to other incidents of police brutality, shocked the world and led to sustained rioting in Ferguson. Reggie visits the small town in America's Bible Belt and discovers that the events of August 2014 have politicised a new generation of young activists. He seeks to find out from the citizens of Ferguson whether the community can ever be healed. Reggie looks at new police recruits being trained but goes on to discover how African-Americans are still being discriminated against.

Night Mail (1936) was one of the most critically acclaimed films to be produced within the British documentary film movement. It was also among the most commercially successful, and remains the film most commonly identified with the movement. By 1936, film output at the GPO Film Unit was divided between the production of relatively routine films promoting Post Office services, and more ambitious ones experimenting with the use of sound, visual style, narrative and editing technique. Night Mail is firmly in the latter category.
