Andre Isoir (organ Gerhard Grenzig, Saint-Cyprien en Perigor)
Bach is frequently represented in the guise of the 'old' Cantor of Leipzig, as we know from his famous portrait. But the majority of his organ works date from his youth, already clearly showing his genius. These pieces have a cool character, invention and lyricism that make them particularly endearing. Except for a few cantatas, they were written for organ or harpsichord, which were to remain throughout his life his favourite instruments, and those which he played himself as a great virtuoso.
