The Gaziza Zhubanova State String Quartet of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the leading chamber ensemble of Kazakhstan. It was founded in 1988 at the Akhmet Zhubanov Republican School for Gifted Children. The quartet is named after Gaziza Zhubanova, a composer and People’s Artist of the Kazakh SSR. In 1995, the quartet gained state status thanks to its successful competition and concert activity, as well as its widespread recognition in Kazakhstan.
