Peaceful Attitude is the debut album by Indo-Swiss artist BombayMami (born Shanta Azalea Venkatesh), released on April 17, 2026 via MNRK Records LP. The title is drawn directly from the artist's identity: Shanta means "peaceful" in Sanskrit, while Tashan — her former stage name — translates as "attitude." Together they encapsulate what BombayMami describes as her life philosophy: calm composure that doesn't preclude firmness.
Previously known as Ta'Shan, the artist spent several years in creative hiatus, dedicating herself to studying Hindustani classical music and learning the tabla. The result is a sound that seamlessly fuses R&B, pop, and Indian classical music. The recordings feature sitar, sarod, tabla, and Carnatic vocals alongside contemporary production by Tudor Monroe, StillNaS, and Mintsauce. BombayMami sings in three languages — English, French, and Hindi — reflecting her multicultural heritage (Bengali-Tamil roots on her father's side, Swiss on her mother's).
Thematically, the album explores femininity, boundaries, self-trust, and personal growth. Key tracks include "Fire in Delhi," which went viral through a snowboarding video featuring the artist in a red lehenga on the Swiss Alps (over 10 million views); "Gulabi Mantra," inspired by India's Gulabi Gang women's collective and dedicated to bodily autonomy; "Jaloux" and "Curse," addressing jealousy and self-worth; and "Hot Boyz," delivering unapologetic sensuality. The project's visual universe, co-created with creative partner Jonni Boi (Miau..Rawr), draws from the iconography of goddess Durga, 2000s Bollywood aesthetics, and R&B music videos of the same era.
The album arrives amid growing media attention: the artist has been featured by BBC Introducing, Vogue, Elle India, and Tatler Asia, with public endorsements from Maya Jama, Sid Sriram, Biig Piig, and Kojey Radical.
