Together 3.7.5 MacOSX

Together 3.7.5 MacOSX | 15 MB

Together - A program for storing and organizing files. Thanks to the support of the drag-and-drop function, Together allows you to collect images, text, bookmarks and other files, and store them in order. All files can be divided into groups and folders, add tags and shortcuts. A built-in search function will help you quickly find the right file.

The application can store in its database information of various types, which is automatically sorted according to existing categories, according to the type of the imported document. So, text files fall into the category Documents, pictures and photos - in Images, sounds and music - in Sounds and so on. Users will be able to view and edit files of any type.
Additional Information:
Import of files and data can be carried out in several ways: by dragging and dropping onto the application icon in the Dock, dragging and dropping onto the program window, importing from the clipboard and the classic way through the program menu (File-> Import-> Import Files). The application also implements the ability to import not only individual files, but also entire folders with files. When you import such a folder, the folder in which the imported materials are located will automatically be created in the group list. Depending on the settings of the application, imported materials can be copied to the Together library (the original files will remain in their places), moved to the library, or simply links will be made to them.

• Library. In this category, a general list of all library items is shown. You can sort the contents of the list by a number of parameters (name, type, editing date, date of addition, color mark, rating, size), to sort by just click on any of the above parameters at the top of the list.
• Recent Imports. Here, the user will see the files and documents added during the last import session.
• Notes. This category includes all notes written by the user. To write a new note, it is not necessary to be in the appropriate category. While in any section of the panel groups, just click the New Note button located on the toolbar and in the window that appears, write the text we need. The note creation window has its own toolbar, which contains some management and editing tools.
• Documents. This includes all text files imported in one way or another. When you import a text fragment from the clipboard, it is saved as an RTF text file.
• Images. The location of the image files. Note that when you import an image from the clipboard, it is saved as a graphic TIFF file, regardless of the original format.
• Sounds. Already on one name it is clear that here the user will find all those audio files that he has ever added to the library. We tried to copy the audio file of MP3-format to the clipboard, and then import it from there to the library - as a result, it was imported as a TIFF file (more precisely not itself, but its icon), so for audio files this method of import is not recommended. You can listen to audio files already in the library using the built-in simplest media player.
• Movies. This category automatically includes all video files added to the application library. Importing with the clipboard resulted in the same results as in the previous case, so this import option for video files is also not relevant. Like audio files, you can easily play video with the built-in media player.
• Bookmarks. Category for web links. To add a web link, it's easiest to use the corresponding item from the drop-down menu (called the Add button on the toolbar). In the appeared window we write the name of the link and specify the web address. If, before creating a web link, copy the address to the clipboard, then the user himself will not need to write anything, except that only to correct the name, because instead of the name the web address will be automatically substituted.
• Web Pages. Together has one rather interesting feature - the ability to save certain web pages to the library. The saving is made to the user's choice, either as a web archive, or as a PDF file. Selecting the saving mode is done in the drop-down menu Add from the toolbar, which we already mentioned, or through the program menu (File-> New Web Archive and File-> New Web Page as PDF). Having chosen the output format of saving, we specify the web address of the page we need (when saving to PDF you can set the minimum size of the sheet), and the rest will be made for us by the program.

The application supports the so-called bookmarklets, which allow you to send web pages to Together directly in the web browser window. Before we start using a bookmarklet, we will need to place them on the browser's bookmarks bar. To do this, we use the Import tab of the application settings menu, on which we will need to click on Bookmarkl

CONTROL PANEL
• New Note. A tool for creating notes. It was about him that we mentioned when we were told about the category of notes on the panel of groups.
• Add. A drop-down menu for creating Web links and saving Web pages to the library as web archives or PDF files. In addition, we can see here the options for importing content from the clipboard, as well as files and folders from any directory on the hard drive (duplicating the corresponding options from the program menu).
• Labels. Color marking system. Initially, the list of color labels will be empty, and the user will need to fill it out.
• Encrypt / Decrypt. The function allows you to encrypt sensitive information, for later viewing, you will need to enter the master password specified in the (Together-> Change Encription Password) of the program menu. After encrypting the selected library item, instead of its contents, a picture will be displayed indicating that the item is encrypted, upon clicking on which it will be offered to enter the master password. Encryption options one by one repeat similar in Yojimbo, except that the icon of the encrypted file is somewhat different.
• View Options. Drop-down menu for group panel display settings. Allows you to hide certain categories, change the size of icons and much more.
