Every component in client-side development is important. JavaScript lets us add and change the behavior of the page, and CSS lets us define how the page looks, but the DOM is the piece that glues everything together. Without it, we would not be able to write interactive and engaging web pages and applications because it is what lets us access the elements in a page.
